Germany narrowly avoided recession in the third quarter, with data last week showing growth of 0.1 per cent. Investors will be watching closely this week to see if the gloom hanging over Europe’s largest economy continues to lift.
Monday’s business climate index, published by the Ifo Institute of Economic Research, is expected to rebound slightly after steadying last month. GfK’s consumer confidence survey, due on Tuesday, is also set to recover slightly, according to analysts’ forecasts.
