The Exchange has released its Listing Committee Report for 2022, detailing its activities and policy agenda for 2023 and beyond. In 2022, the Listing Committee reviewed 126 listing applications and heard six reviews and 29 disciplinary cases. The year also saw ten “homecoming” listings by Greater China issuers, and five SPAC listings, raising $5 billion. In addition, the Exchange published a consultation paper on a listing regime for Specialist Technology Companies to support the funding and development of frontier industries.
The Exchange also focused on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives during the year, including enhancing its ESG Academy webpages and hosting training sessions to help companies incorporate TCFD recommendations into their business strategy and disclosures. In addition, the Exchange’s review report on issuers’ ESG disclosure noted that the enhanced ESG reporting requirements introduced in 2020 had driven positive change in the market. In 2023, the Exchange expects to publish a consultation paper on aligning its standards on climate disclosure with TCFD recommendations and ISSB’s new standards.
