Whirlpool Achieves Goal of Zero Waste to Landfill for Manufacturing Sites Worldwide

Whirlpool Corporation has achieved Zero Waste to Landfill Gold or Platinum status at its large manufacturing sites worldwide by diverting at least 95% of waste from landfills. The company has been working towards this goal since 2012 and has collaborated with recyclers and sustainability vendors to eliminate waste and contribute to the circular economy. This achievement is part of the company’s commitment to World Class Manufacturing (WCM), which sets high standards for manufacturing excellence and sustainable manufacturing. Whirlpool Corporation has also committed to reaching a net-zero emissions target (scope 1 and 2) by 2030 and has taken several actions towards this goal, including reducing its carbon footprint and entering into wind Virtual Power Purchase Agreements.
