The United Nations Sanctions (Democratic Republic of the Congo) Regulation 2019 (Amendment) Regulation 2023 has been published in the Gazette, effective immediately. The amendment removes the notification requirement for relevant exemptions of arms embargo and reflects the latest exemption arrangements for asset freeze. Licensed corporations and associated entities must comply with the regulations under the United Nations Sanctions Ordinance and refer to the Guideline on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism for guidance.
