The SFC in Hong Kong has expressed its support for SEHK’s public consultation on climate-related reporting requirements for listed companies. The aim is to align Hong Kong with the global baseline for climate-related reporting standards set to be published by the ISSB. The SFC CEO, Ms Julia Leung, believes that this move will solidify Hong Kong’s position as a leader in green and sustainable finance. The proposals made by SEHK are in line with the TCFD recommendations, which the SFC intends to mandate by 2025. The SFC is encouraging interested parties to submit their comments to SEHK by July 14, 2023.
