Shell and Volkswagen Push Ahead Expansion of EV Charging Infrastructure in Germany

Shell and Volkswagen have launched their first 150kW Elli Flexpole charging station at a Shell service station in Göttingen, Germany. The charging station features a unique battery storage system that can be connected to a low-voltage grid, making it easy to install and flexible to use. Depending on the type of vehicle, the charging station can offer a range of up to 160 kilometres within 10 minutes. The two companies plan to install more Flexpole charging stations at other locations in Germany and Europe. This innovative charging technology can help accelerate the expansion of the e-mobility charging infrastructure, which is crucial for achieving the German government’s target of having at least one million charging points for electric cars by 2030.
