DHL Aviation, the in-house airline of DHL Express, is introducing an optional service called GoGreen Plus that enables air cargo customers to reduce their carbon emissions by using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). This service will be available globally from June and allows customers to customize the amount of CO2 reduction they want to achieve and the amount of SAF they use. The GoGreen Plus service is part of Deutsche Post DHL Group’s target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, and it contributes to the interim goal of using 30% SAF for all air transport by 2030. SAF is produced from waste oils and has the potential to decrease greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional jet fuel over its lifespan. DHL Aviation manages 18 airlines with over 300 dedicated aircraft that operate more than 2,400 daily flights to over 500 airports worldwide.
