The Biden-Harris Administration has announced initiatives to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in America and stimulate private sector investments in clean transportation. The “Ride and Drive Electric” funding opportunity will provide $51 million to enhance EV charging resilience, provide equitable access to electrification, and improve EV charging performance and reliability. The funding will be administered by the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, and the National Charging Experience Consortium, led by DOE’s Idaho National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, will collaborate with organizations across the EV charging industry to ensure a reliable and user-friendly charging experience for all Americans. These initiatives align with President Biden’s goal of building a national network of 500,000 public EV charging ports and his Investing in America agenda to rebuild the nation’s infrastructure, create jobs, and combat climate change.
