Mr Sze Chun Wai has been convicted by the Eastern Magistrates’ Courts for providing false and misleading information in his application for a license to the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in January 2021. He did not reveal that he had been barred from working in an industry due to disciplinary action in April 2016. As a result, he has been fined $8,000 and ordered to pay the SFC’s investigation costs. The SFC stresses that license applicants must provide accurate and complete information, and failure to do so may raise doubts about their suitability to be licensed and may also be a criminal offense.
