The U.S. National Clean Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap has been launched by the Biden-Harris Administration to promote the production, processing, delivery, storage, and use of clean hydrogen as a low or zero carbon energy carrier. The strategy aims to create jobs, increase American competitiveness, and support the President’s Investing in America agenda. The plan identifies three key strategies to ensure the effective development and use of clean hydrogen, including targeting high-impact applications, reducing costs, and focusing on regional networks. The roadmap aims to create tens of thousands of new jobs, especially in underserved communities, and support the decarbonization of energy-intensive sectors. The strategy reflects the whole-of-government approach of the Biden-Harris Administration to address climate change and achieve a carbon-free grid by 2035 and a net-zero emissions economy by 2050. The roadmap will be updated every three years to reflect changes in the market, technology, and policy environment.
