Netflix, The Walt Disney Company to Develop Zero-Emissions Power Through Clean Mobile Power Initiative

Netflix and The Walt Disney Company have partnered with nonprofit RMI and its accelerator Third Derivative to launch the Clean Mobile Power Initiative. The goal of the initiative is to identify and provide cost-effective, zero-emissions mobile power solutions at scale for the entertainment industry, with a focus on finding alternatives to diesel generators that currently emit about 700,000 tons of CO2e per year in the sector. The initiative will bring together production studios, equipment suppliers, and cleantech manufacturers to discover, test, and scale new clean, reliable, and mobile power-generating technologies. Innovative startups can apply to participate in Third Derivative’s clean mobile power accelerator program as part of the initiative.
