BASF and Yara To Evaluate Low-carbon Blue Ammonia Project at U.S. Gulf Coast

BASF and Yara Clean Ammonia are collaborating on a feasibility study to build a low-carbon blue ammonia production facility with carbon capture in the U.S. Gulf Coast region. The proposed plant would have a total capacity of 1.2 to 1.4 million tons per year and capture approximately 95% of the carbon dioxide generated during production for permanent storage. The collaboration aims to serve the growing global demand for low-carbon ammonia and reduce the product carbon footprint. The companies plan to complete the feasibility study by the end of 2023.
