Netflix, AFAC Partner to Launch Creative Training Program for Emerging Arab Women in Film

Netflix and the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) have launched ‘Women in Film’: Introduction to the Creative Process, a training program for emerging female filmmakers in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE. The initiative aims to introduce women to the filmmaking process and diverse roles behind the camera. Forty-five participants will be selected for workshops led by established female filmmakers from the Arab region. The program will kick off with workshops in Cairo, Dubai, and Jeddah, followed by a visit to Netflix’s production hub in Europe. The application period is from August 17th to September 8th, with successful candidates notified on October 17th. This collaboration reinforces Netflix’s commitment to empowering women in the industry and fostering storytelling opportunities.
