SFC Publishes Lists of Virtual Asset Trading Platforms

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has released several lists of virtual asset trading platforms (VATPs) on its website. These lists aim to provide clear, transparent, and timely information about VATPs. The lists include the names of licensed VATP operators, VATP applicants awaiting approval, applicants whose applications have been returned, refused, or withdrawn, closing-down VATPs, and VATPs deemed to be licensed. Additionally, the SFC has published a list of suspicious VATPs to help investors identify potentially fraudulent platforms. It is important for investors to note that entities on the list of VATP applicants are not licensed by the SFC and may not comply with its requirements. VATP applicants are advised to submit complete applications, as incomplete or substandard applications will be returned, and the applicant’s name will be removed from the list.
