The Insurance Authority (IA) and the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in combating corruption in the insurance industry. The MoU covers various aspects, including case referrals, joint investigations, information exchange, and expert assistance. With over 164 authorized insurers and 110,000 registered insurance intermediaries in Hong Kong, the IA and ICAC aim to protect policyholders’ interests and maintain integrity in the industry. The partnership also focuses on public education and professional training to foster an ethical and corruption-free environment.
