M&G’s impact investing unit, responsAbility Investments, has collaborated with the German development bank KfW and the Dutch development bank FMO to launch a new climate investment strategy in Asia. Aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, the strategy seeks to mobilize $500 million in capital by targeting investments in low-emission technologies. With a focus on sectors like renewable energy, energy storage, electric mobility, and energy efficiency, the strategy aims to achieve direct CO2 savings of 10 million tons over the lifetime of the investments. The blended finance structure combines public funding with private capital to attract institutional investors and support climate projects in Asia.
